The resources and collections of the Sydney Jewish Museum support and enhance the Aims and Objectives of the Society and Culture Syllabus. In particular, the exhibits and materials relating to the Australian Jewish experience, Jewish migration and the Holocaust have direct relevance to the following topic areas: Preliminary Course The Social and Cultural World; Personal and Social Identity; Intercultural Communication HSC Course Core: Personal Interest Project; Social and Cultural Continuity and Change. Depth Studies- Belief Systems; Equality and Difference The Process of Research and the Personal Interest Project The Education staff of the Sydney Jewish Museum is available to assist students seeking to research a topic of relevance to the mission of the Sydney Jewish Museum. A Research Pass is available for students who would benefit from these services (please see Specialised Programs). The Sydney Jewish Museum both as a site study and with regard to its Mission may lend itself to a range of topics for research with methodologies including Case Study, Observation, Personal Reflection and Content Analysis (within the context of research ethics). Cross Cultural Comparison The Museum visit provides the opportunity for cross- cultural focus specifically through interaction with Museum guides and study of the displays and exhibits together with the student's own investigation of the topic. | ||||||||||||||||||
