Gregor Noisemaker

A gregor is a noisemaker to drown out Haman’s name during the reading of Megillat Esther (The Book of Esther) on the Festival of Purim. According to the Torah, Haman, adviser to the Persian King Ahasuerus, plotted to kill all the Jews in the kingdom. Queen Esther, one of Ahasuerus’ wives and a Jew herself, bravely stopped Haman from carrying out the persecution. This silver gregor is designed as a small flag on a pole.
