This is the Returned from Active Service badge issued to all military personnel who served in World War II. This one belonged to Enid Himmelhoch, who served as a nurse with the Australian military forces.
Enid enlisted in the military in 1940 and was assigned to the 2/5 Australian General Hospital. She served in Greece, the Middle East and New Guinea and witnessed both the evacuation of Crete and the Japanese surrender at Morotai. Enid was discharged in 1946.
