Photograph of Malka Einhorn, Cesia Dranger and Inusia Tobias

The three girls in this 1940 photograph were all murdered in the Holocaust. Cesia Dranger (centre) became a member of the Zionist youth movement Hashomer Hazair at age thirteen. During World War II the group organised resistance against the Gestapo, the official secret police of Nazi Germany. Cesia was caught and shot along with other group members. Malka Einhorn and Inusia Tobias (left and right) were cousins. They were killed in Belz, Ukraine in 1942. This is the only photograph Malka’s mother, a Survivor, had of her daughter.
