Scroll of Esther
Scroll of Esther (Megillah Esther) in a silver case. The contemporary case is Moroccan, rendered in Sephardic style. It is elaborately embossed with motifs of the tablets of the Ten Commandments and a menorah.
The Megillah Esther, a Biblical Scroll of Esther, is read on Purim. This festival commemorates the triumph of Esther and Mordechai over Haman, who sought to exterminate all the Jews of the Persian Empire.
