Shofar

The shofar is a ram’s horn blown in synagogues as a call to prayer during Rosh Hashanah and to mark the end of the fast at Yom Kippur. So important is it to Rosh Hashanah services that the holiday is also known as Yom T’ruah, “The Day of the Shofar Blast.”
