Theodor Herzl Wall Hanging

This wall hanging depicts Theodor Herzl (1860-1904), founder of the Zionist political movement. He gazes upon a group of pioneers approaching the Tower of David in Jerusalem, with the sun rising behind the tower.
Sarah Lutman received this tapestry from her mother as a departure gift in 1912, when she migrated from Palestine to Australia at the age of eighteen.
