Trauer-Album
Yahrzeit (anniversary of death) book-calendar in German, printed in Austria. Trauer is German for ‘period of mourning’. The book starts in 1912 with Yahrzeit dates and finishes in 1961, containing prayers and rituals to be performed at the deaths of family members.
The original owner of this book, Rosalie Hartmann, died in 1911. The trauer-album was passed to her daughter, then to her daughter’s husband, then to a friend of the husband.
