Rosie's War: Escape from Singapore 1942
Rosie’s War – Escape from Singapore 1942
By Rosalind Meyer

ROSALIND MEYER transports you back in time to the pre-war Singapore of her youth.
This Singapore is a world which tantalizes the senses – sight, smell and taste. As a child prior to the war, she guides the reader through the enchanting world of her middle eastern Jewish relatives with all of their superstitions.
This is then juxtaposed with their exposure to previously unimagined hardships. The female members of the family flee to Bombay during the bombardment of Singapore and her father is interned there after it’s fall.
The characters are deftly drawn, revealing a canvas of a life and time now all but lost.
Proceeds of this book will be donated to the Peter Meyer Fund Schizophrenia Fellowship of NSW.
