dress designDressing Sydney: Stories of Jews in post war fashion

Opening October 2012

The Sydney Jewish Museum is curating an exhibition to document the Sydney Jewish involvement in and contribution to Australia’s clothing and fashion industry.
The exhibition will explore the history and current community involvement in the trade, from the post-war waves of migrants who became part of the industry to the shining success of today’s young Jewish designers.

Entrepreneurs have provided employment opportunities and have brought in new concepts and ideas to the industry.

The exhibition will be brought to life through recollections, photographs, garments and accessories.
