Toy Car

H2-bg

Toy car belonging to Victor Schwatz.  Victor lived in Oradea, Romania.  He arrived home from school one afternoon and was told he was to be "taken on a journey".  He asked the neighbours to "look after" his book, his prized tin car and his school satchel.  Victor said he would come back to collect them.  He never returned.  Victor, aged 8, together with other members of his family, was killed in Auschwitz on 31 May 1944.

Currently on display in the Children's Memorial

Donated by Yvonne Morris
