EXHIBITION: Love in War (Dates to be advised).
The
Sydney Jewish Museum is currently researching an exhibition titled
Love in War. This exhibition looks at how love manifested itself
during the Holocaust, one of the darkest periods in human history. It
became a source of
strength, a reason to survive, a form of spiritual resistance, and a
means of healing after Liberation.
We are
looking for love stories from this period. If you met or married your
sweetheart during this time or know anyone who did, we are interested. If
you have testimonies, photos, objects, or anything related to love in
wartime such as presents from your wedding, invitation cards, thank you
cards, letters of congratulation, wedding dress, but also any messages
of love such as love letters, Mother’s Day cards, New Years cards, etc,
we would love to hear from you.
If you
wish to participate in our exhibition, please contact Shannon Maguire in the
curatorial department of the Sydney Jewish Museum. Phone 9360 7999 or
