The Alcove
A dramatic and powerful memorial to those who perished in the gas chambers. With the haunting background song of Ani Ma’amin, the darkened chamber provides a highly emotional interlude in the Museum tour. Included in the Alcove is a sculpture of children’s shoes by Israeli sculptress Elza Pollak. Entitled All That Remained, it is a loving tribute to those who left no trace.
